Fiesta pajarera/ Bird party

¡Vamos a la Fiesta!

A la parranda pajarera, 

son las aves musicales 

de montañas y praderas. 

Azacuán acordoneado,

con guitarra doña garza 

y la chacha chinchineando: 

chacachún, chun, chun, chun, chun. 

El flamenco está enflautado, 

con clarín el clarinero, 

y la guaca guarimbeando: 

parramplán, plan, plan, plan, plan.    -

Todos bailan, todos cantan 

en el teatro al aire libre 

y aunque parezca imposible 

de tocar nadie se cansa.  

¡Tomen, tomen su refresco!

Del jarrón sobre el tapesco, 

el descanso no interesa, 

prosigamos con la fiesta. 

El pelícano silbando, 

con su lira el loro lero 

y la urraca matraqueando: 

traca traca, traca traca. 

Perica pandereteada, 

con su saxo don sanate 

y el tucán tamboroneando:

tamborón, bom, bom, bom, bom. 

Tortolita trompeteada, 

con el arpa la nía aurora 

y el tecolote tuntuneando: 

tucutún, tun, tun, tun, tun.

A celebration of birdsong,

From the mountains and the valleys

Seagull squeezes his accordian,

Lady Goose strums her guitar

Mr. ChaCha shakes maracas 

Chacachum, chum, chum, chum, chum. 

Flamingo puffs his flute, 

Clarin blows a bugle, 

Macaw strikes her marimba 

Par-ram-plom, plom, plom, plom, plom.

We all dance and sing 

In the theatre of the air.

We celebrate all night 

No one’s tired there!

Have a slice of cake!

Fruit fresh from the vine,

 No one ever wants to sleep

A pelican whistles by

The parakeet plucks her lute

Mr. Magpie bangs a beat

Toucan tap-taps tambourines, 

And the Raven blares his sax 

Cocactoo is drumming, drumming:

tamborum, bum, bum, bum, bum

The Terns, they trumpet on,

The Doves in chorus coo

Mr. Heron drums and drums

Tuck-a-tum, tum, tum, tum, tum.
